Sugarloaf Mountain

After walking the trail above the ocean cliffs, from where one can access the very steep trail to the top of the mountain in front of the Sugarloaf Mountain. I did the walk around the base first, because the path up was closed. There were workers refinishing some of the steps you see here. When I returned from the end of the walk, I noticed that they had opened enough of the yellow tape to let people hike up. I didn't need a special invite to start up and get to the top as fast as I could.

I had passed the group I show above and saw a couple of girls way ahead and they became my 'rabbits'.

I caught them and then saw them again at the top. Interestingly, the blonde with the blues lives here, the one who looks like she does, is the tourist.

Getting up here was definitely worth it and getting all sweated up. Of course, this is not the way most people arrive here. They take the cable cars. Then from here one can cross the gap by a second cable car to the top of Sugarloaf Mountail. I did not. I had all I wanted right here. And, the girls told me that after 5pm (maybe it was 6 pm) the path down gets closed for safety reasons and one can ride the cable car down, free. Here are two previous generations of cable cars on display.

The domestic airport from which I would ultimately depart this great city..

Stage 2, departure station to go to the top of Sugarloaf Mountain

I settled for this view of the tourists over there looking back at us and the same landscape I could see from here.
